The Dragon’s Valley

One of the most surreal landscapes I have ever encountered, this the limestone labyrinth of Ninh Bình Province. Unlike Ha Long on the country’s coast, Ninh Bình’s karst peaks jut straight up from green rice fields rather than blue seas. Once these hills defended the ancient Hoa Lu capital of Vietnam, now they provide unparalleled spectacle for visitors to this gorgeous country.
