Species: New Zealand fur seal / kekeno (Arctocephalus forsteri)

Location: Wellington Region, North Island, Aotearoa/New Zealand

My first committed wildlife photography shoot was to a seal colony on the coast of my home county of Yorkshire, and getting this shot of a bellowing fur seal 18,500km from home really showed me how far I’ve come on this incredible journey into the natural world. And what a powerful animal!
