Good Kai

Species: North Island kākā (Nestor meridionalis)

Location: Wellington Region, Aotearoa/New Zealand

Nowhere I have encountered has had such friendly wildlife as Aotearoa/New Zealand, and this North Island kākā was more than happy to enjoy its food (‘kai’ in Te Reo Māori) with me watching on just a few metres away. It’s a testament to the incredible conservation work done in this country!
